I have been counseling for over 25 years in various backgrounds and cultures. I offer professional Christian counseling for couples, individuals, and families facing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, addiction, codependency and other relationship issues, societal pressures, depression, trauma, and much more. As your counselor, I will seek to develop a strong relationship of trust and a non-judgmental atmosphere where you can share your struggles or concerns at your own pace. In my practice, I emphasize practical application and how to implement the truths from God’s Word in everyday situations, whether you're just starting your faith journey or ready to dig deeper. I aim to help clients realize God's truth and live it out in meaningful, long-lasting ways that provide profound transformation, healing, and inner peace.

I aim to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where your personal beliefs, questions, and individual pace will be honored. Many of my past clients have commented that they “feel as though they can tell me anything and don’t feel condemned or judged.” Ultimately, I want you to feel both supported and empowered to grow at your pace. I have never met anyone who was “too far gone” for grace, deep inner healing, or the love of God. My hope is that through our time together you will begin to heal, and with God’s help, make some real, positive, and long-lasting changes in your life.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My initial goal as a Christian counselor is to create an environment where you can feel seen, heard, and respected no matter what you may have been through. We will proceed at your pace and comfort level as I seek to offer practical tools to help you reach your goals. As you leave each session, I hope you will have gained more than just an intellectual understanding, but an awareness and confidence that you can make significant and lasting changes in your life and ultimately, a greater confidence in yourself and your ability to grow in your relationship with God.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I work hard to establish a place where you can feel comfortable and free to be honest about your struggles, doubts, and questions without fear of shame or rejection. As a Christian counselor, I seek to listen to and rely on the Holy Spirit to direct the session and provide wisdom, guidance, and insight. I also understand that not every client I see might want to talk about spiritual principles and practices, and that’s completely fine. When appropriate, I also seek to integrate Scripture or prayer in the session to offer truth, encouragement, and hope.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

I have worked in both secular and Christian counseling environments, and I believe that secular counseling can only take a client so far in addressing symptom relief or behavior change. A Christian counselor can address eternal issues.

My faith and professional experience allow me to create space in a counseling relationship to wrestle with hard questions without fear of judgment, to bring fears, doubts, and brokenness into the light, and to discover the kind of peace and wholeness that comes from being known and truly loved by God. I seek to encourage clients to see themselves, maybe for the first time, through the lens of God’s mercy, grace, and truth.

Qualifications & Experience

I have a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from West Texas State University, a
Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Religious Education, both from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from the State of Texas. I have been counseling both informally and professionally for over 26 years.

My Call to Christian Counseling

Growing up, I was always drawn to the underdog, the bruised, battered, and broken people in my environment. I often comment that I didn’t look for this profession; it came looking for me. I didn’t grow up in the most functional family and had a lot of questions about myself and others as a young man and young Christian. I remember being drawn to people who were good listeners and talked about real feelings in real situations. They had a sense of peace, purpose, and direction. It then became my goal to become one of those types of people who would listen to God, listen to others, and combine those into my everyday life.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I am a private pilot with a passion for languages. I speak French, Swahili, and Kirundi, and am currently learning Spanish. I also enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and any water activities, including boating, scuba diving, and tubing.

Anxiety

Whether your anxiety is rooted in guilt, shame from past religious experiences, or identifying anxiety-producing triggers, this is a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore it freely. Together, we’ll take practical steps to understand the root causes of your anxiety—whether it’s old beliefs, unmet expectations, or fear of judgment—and work on strategies to manage it. You’ll be free to bring your faith into the process or not, whether you’re looking for God’s peace or working through how your spiritual journey is changing. The goal is to provide you with real, actionable tools to move forward with confidence and peace, without fear of being judged or misunderstood.

Addiction/Codependency

I know how heavy it can feel when someone you love is caught in addiction or unhealthy patterns—and how easy it can be to lose yourself in the process. I’ve walked that road, too. You try to keep the peace, say the right things, or fix what’s broken, but deep down, you’re exhausted and maybe even unsure of who you are anymore. It can be hard to speak up when you’re afraid of conflict or rejection from those around you, and even harder to set boundaries when guilt or fear gets in the way. Faith-based counseling can help you find the space to breathe, to speak honestly, and to reconnect with the truth that God never asked you to carry this burden alone. If you’re in that place, know there’s hope—and support to help you take the next step forward.

Relationship Issues

God created us for relationships–with Him and with one another. At times, these relationships can be challenging. My goal as a counselor is to create a space where you can reflect on and work through the struggles experienced in your relationship with Him or with others in your life. Together we will focus on strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, and developing practical tools for conflict resolution, all with the goal of fostering relationships that honor God and bring mutual respect and growth.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a personal journey; no two stories are the same. Together, we’ll look at your challenges, identify your goals, and explore what healing and growth might look like for you. With God’s guidance, we’ll create a path grounded in faith and practical steps, helping you move toward the life and purpose He’s called you to.

Men’s Issues

As your counselor, I’m here to walk alongside you through whatever challenges you’re facing. Being a man in today’s world isn’t easy—there are real pressures, expectations, and responsibilities, whether in your family, work, or community. This is a space where you don’t have to have it all together. You can show up exactly as you are—angry, frustrated, worn out, unsure, or just struggling—and you’ll be met with respect, honesty, and zero judgment. We’ll take an honest look at what’s been holding you back, and together—with practical tools and God’s guidance—we’ll work toward becoming the man He’s called you to be. Growth doesn’t require perfection, just a willingness to show up and take the next step!

Online Counseling

I offer online counseling for people walking through all kinds of life challenges—whether it’s addiction, anxiety, codependency, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck and wanting to make a change. My goal is to create a place where you can be honest without fear of shame or judgment, and where your time and story truly matter. We’ll work together on practical steps toward healing and lasting change, and if faith is an important part of your journey, we can bring that into the process too.

Payment and Forms

Sessions: I offer 53-minute sessions. Sessions can be held more than once per week, weekly, or every other week. Scheduling options are discussed in greater detail during your Risk-Free Initial Session.

  • Royse City – Tuesday
  • Rowlett – Thursday
  • Online Counseling – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Fees: I offer a Risk-Free Initial Session for individuals, and couples looking to pursue counseling with me. Please note that there is a fee for the Risk-Free Initial Session as it is a clinical hour and reimbursable to most insurance companies, but if you choose not to reschedule and continue therapy after the initial session, the entire fee for the session will be waived. For ongoing treatment, the full fee per session is required at the time of service.

Insurance: As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), most insurance companies will reimburse for a portion of my services (as an Out-of-Network Provider). Please consult with your insurance provider as to whether they specifically cover adolescents, individuals, and couples.

Receipts/Statements: In the event you require a printed or digital receipt, I will provide receipts for personal use, insurance reimbursement, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Payment options: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express). A fee of up to 4% per transaction may be added for credit card payments.
