About
In John 15, Jesus gives us a powerful picture of pruning – a process that can feel painful, heavy, and even discouraging in the moment. Yet, it is necessary for producing fruit. A vinedresser carefully removes what is dead, diseased, or no longer serving the health of the vine. I believe therapy can be approached in a similar way. Together, we can take an honest look at your life, name what isn’t working, explore where it came from, and begin the process of letting go of what no longer aligns. Therapy is also a place where new seeds are planted and watered in your life, as you watch God give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:16).
The pruning process is not punishment; it’s an intentional act of care that creates space for new growth. While confronting difficult things in our sessions may feel uncomfortable, my hope is that our work together leads to meaningful transformation and a life marked by purpose and the ability to bear the fruit God desires for you.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
One of my goals is for therapy to be a place where you can stop performing. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, identity, or questions of faith, I want to help you deepen your relationship with Christ and grow in confidence as you discern His calling for your life. My greatest hope for you is that our work together equips you to walk in the freedom Christ offers, trust in His faithfulness more deeply, and live with a renewed sense of purpose as you pursue the life He has created you to live.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a grace-filled space that is free from judgment or shame where you can honestly explore the parts of yourself you’ve learned to hide, ignore, or carry alone. Together, we’ll seek to better understand the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that have shaped your life, while also exploring them through the truth and hope of Scripture. Christian counseling is about more than symptoms relief. It’s about inviting God into the healing process as we discover what Scripture says about your identity, purpose, and the person God created you to be.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach is very much “come as you are.” You don’t have to have the right words, have your faith all figured out, or clean yourself up before walking through the door. I believe healing begins when we can bring our whole selves – the broken, messy, confused, and hurting parts – into a space where we are met with understanding and empathy instead of judgment.
Also, I am not easily offended. I started my career as a jailhouse therapist. I’ve seen and heard just about everything. And from that exposure, I can say wholeheartedly that nothing is too big, too small, or too messy for God’s grace. Whether you’re navigating major life transitions, struggling with difficult emotions, grieving the weight of life not looking the way you imagined, or simply feeling overwhelmed by what you’re carrying, we can find a way through those things together, with God’s help and direction.
