About
As my client you will be treated with respect and honor as the valuable child of God that you are. I believe two truths are foundational for having strong mental and emotional health: 1) God’s true character; and 2) your identity in Christ. Our relationships are also strengthened when we live out of our true identity as beloved sons and daughters of God. Together we will work to establish a strong foundation of truth, which can lead to healthier relationships, reduced anxiety, and improved overall well-being.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
One of my goals is for you to gain tools to effectively address the issues you are facing, whether it’s depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or other concerns. As a Christian counselor, one of my aims is for you to feel valued and seen as a beloved child of God. My hope is that through our time together, you will gain a deeper understanding of your true worth and value in the sight of God and learn skills to renew your mind in the understanding of who you are in Him. As Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
As your counselor I will point you to the True Healer, Jesus, while also giving you practical tools to help your grow in your faith and better cope with your circumstances. I also have a clinical understanding of trauma and how it can impact the human soul, body, and spirit. We will discuss your weekly goals and look for practical and “real world” situations to practice and apply what you are learning in counseling to your daily life.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
The best way I can describe my approach to Christian counseling is that I am a clinically trained counselor who is also a devoted Christ-follower. I use the tools and training I have received from the counseling profession to help provide a framework for and support clients, but I also point to Jesus as the ultimate healer and encourage clients in their walk with Him.
