About
Jesus said to His disciples, “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). I believe this is true for all of life, including counseling. When we seek to incorporate Christ and the principles from Scripture into each therapy session, we are far more likely to see lasting, positive results including healing and transformation by God’s grace. If you are struggling with issues related to trauma, sex or porn addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or other concerns, I would be honored to walk alongside you toward newness of life.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My primary goal as your counselor is for you to leave our sessions knowing you have drawn closer to God and have a growing dependence on Him. For this reason I aim to “get out of the way” so to speak and keep putting Christ at the center of our counseling sessions. My prayer is that God would use me for your benefit and growth as I continue to submit to Him and His will.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a confidential, grace-filled space where you can be refreshed by the healing power of God and His Word. By applying Scripture appropriately to your circumstances and situation, you can find an anchor of hope to cling to in the storms of life. I will remind you that we are not called to be perfect in this life—in fact, it’s impossible. But as we depend on Christ alone and rely on the support of fellow believers in our lives, it’s possible to experience tremendous growth spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and relationally.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
Spiritual growth will sustain you even when the clinical support fails. What I mean by this is that, historically and biblically, man has survived and thrived due to God and His Word. Having said this, there are tools used in psychology that can be implemented by those who follow Christ. When applied correctly and with His Word at the center of the counsel, these tools can be an effective aid toward healing individual hurts and restoring fractured relationships. As a Christian counselor I pray for each of my clients in and outside of the session, and I pray for God to use me in their lives so He can be glorified.
