Whether you’re looking for counseling for teens, adult individuals, or couples, I would be honored to walk with you on your journey toward wholeness and overall health. My hope is that through our time together, you will find lasting healing from the Lord and experience the peace that passes understanding and only comes from Him. With His guidance, we will work together to find the treatment plan that best fits your needs.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My goal as a Christian counselor in Texas is to help you see the transforming power of the gospel and experience the true hope that can only be found in Christ. No matter what you are facing, your struggles are not too big for God to handle. He is able, and I would be honored to witness His work in your life through Christian counseling in Texas. You are not alone; help is available.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

As a Christian mental health therapist in Texas, I offer a judgement-free atmosphere where you can feel safe sharing your story. I believe part of my role as your counselor is to serve as an advocate for you and your story. Using a variety of proven therapeutic techniques, we will work together to determine the root cause of your concerns so you can find lasting healing and relief.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

I approach Christian counseling with the view that each client is created by God in His image, worthy of His love, and valuable in His sight. I believe that there is no darkness too great for Christ to overcome it with the light of His love. No matter where you are in your faith journey – whether you feel close to God or far away – it would be my honor to help you see yourself as God sees you: as a beloved child, equipped with His strength to overcome whatever challenges you may face, with God’s help.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

I hold an M.A. in education and teaching from The University of Alabama, an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health from Midwestern State University, and an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary. As an ordained Presbyterian minister, I provided pastoral care at a church for five years.

I have been counseling informally and professionally for more than 15 years. I trained in counseling in a university counseling center where I worked with clients across many age groups, socioeconomic levels, education levels, and ethnicities in both individual and group settings. I also volunteered at a domestic violence shelter, providing both individual and group therapy.

My Call to Christian Counseling

Since high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in a helping profession. After graduate school, I began teaching and realized that I really wanted to help students with their personal issues. This led me to pursue a calling in ministry.

During this time, I realized that I needed further training to help people heal and find hope. I also had a child with severe medical needs and special needs, which has made me realize how crucial it is for people to have help and a safe space. Now, as I join others in a counseling relationship, I continue to see how this is my true calling, and that there is restoration, redemption, and hope for everyone.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I’m married to a teacher, and we have three young children, one of whom has severe special and medical needs. My husband and I love the diversity in the Seattle area, the mountains, and the water. I enjoy decorating, fashion, music, audio books, trying new places to eat, and anything involving the outdoors.

Each person within a family or marriage contributes to the dynamics of that system. When multiple individuals are involved, it can become tricky to establish healthy boundaries in relationships.
