About
I offer hopeful, supportive Christian counseling for children, teens, and adults facing a variety of challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, grief, anger, and much more. In our journey to discover and walk out our God-given purpose, there are often roadblocks along the way. I believe these roadblocks and seasons of discomfort can be fertile ground for the best growth to take place, with the help of the Holy Spirit. With God’s help, you are capable of remarkable change, and I am committed to lovingly challenging you to move toward that which God has called you to do.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My ultimate goal is for you to recognize who you are and what your purpose is in life, grow your self-esteem, and realize that you can overcome whatever obstacles you face, with God’s help. I will focus on helping you identify shame triggers as well as trauma triggers to gain an understanding of how to overcome the past and live in the present moment. One of my aims is to help you thrive in the present while coexisting with your emotions, yourself, and other relationships.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer an environment where you can feel seen and heard. As a follower of the God of all comfort, I will direct you to the comfort of our God while not shying away from addressing your concerns head-on. I also include teaching and education in every session as we discuss the topics you bring to our sessions. I understand how terrifying it can feel to come into a counseling session, so I work to create a place that rewards the efforts of those who come to the office to receive help.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
A true understanding of purpose and identity can only be found in Christ and the revealed Word of God. Therefore, Scripture and the Holy Spirit are my guides when working with any client. Colossians 1:17 expresses that “He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in Him.” Revelation 4:11 say, “for You created all things and for your pleasure they were created and exist.” These two Scriptures provide the basis of my Christian counseling approach.
I believe in the importance of including the Lord, prayer, and Scripture to the level that a client is willing and comfortable to incorporate as part of their counseling experience. I believe that counseling is the work of the soul and that a broken soul impacts one’s ability to live and thrive. My own faith and mental health journey helped me to recognize the interconnection between having someone who is used by the Lord addressing the struggles of life.
