About
If you’re dealing with emotional pain or you’re in a relationship that makes you feel overwhelmed, I will work with you to help you better understand yourself and those with whom you’re in a relationship. Together we will work toward gaining a healthier experience by identifying new ways to help you overcome your emotional struggle and connect with your partner. No matter what you may be going through – anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, addiction, or other concerns – I would be honored to listen to your story and help you take steps toward recovery and hope.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My main goal as your counselor is to help you heal. I believe a good counselor needs to meet the following basic human needs to be able to help their clients heal: to provide emotional safety, to provide the client with unconditional positive regard, to accept the person for who they are, and to be genuine. I aim to provide for all of these needs in our sessions as we work together to determine the best path forward for your recovery and personal growth.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel understood and accepted without judgment. Together we will explore any areas of concern that you’d like to discuss and work to establish a customized treatment plan to meet your individual needs. Although I am a Christian myself, one does not have to align with my views or be a believer to meet with me, as I welcome anyone in my practice.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach as a Christian counselor is to accept everyone for who they are, seek to identify with their pain, and be there with them. The advantage of someone with the Spirit of Christ is that they tend to be loving and accepting of others. My faith informs my practice in that anyone who walks through my door to receive therapy, to have someone listen to them, and to be trusted with their vulnerabilities will be received just as they are, as an individual created in the image of God.
