About
I am a seasoned Christian therapist with decades of experience helping clients overcome a wide variety of challenges. Though the world can leave us feeling disillusioned and discouraged, my aim is to provide encouragement and care so you have space to grow and flourish. I will listen intently to your concerns and work with you to establish a realistic treatment plan to meet your needs. I will gently encourage you to be the person God created you to be. I believe the Lord can do tremendous, life-changing work and I look forward to witnessing His healing and transforming power in your life.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My primary goal as a Christian counselor is to help you trust in the One who will never fail you. Using my skills as a therapist, I aim to provide empowerment through faith and encouragement so you can overcome the challenges you face. My hope is that through our time together, you will gain a new perspective on your dilemmas, taking into consideration the forces that work against you as a Christian (Ephesians 6:12) and the power and victory you possess through Christ.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
Our first session will include an assessment, and I will ask you to provide a narrative of the presenting problem. We will then move to the essential questions of social history, medical/mental health, medications, prior therapy, major medical issues, family of origin, faith history, and complete the psychiatric evaluation. At that point, we will establish a treatment plan together and determine the frequency of sessions. I will explain my initial diagnosis to clarify the work. Our work may include assignments, journaling, supportive readings, videos, etc. I may use psychoeducational, spiritual readings and discussions that challenge false beliefs hindering your success.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
I have a strong commitment to biblical principles as the source of healing. I try to be a servant leader as a therapist and consider each client as Jesus’ beloved. With kindness and gentleness, I will create an atmosphere of safety where you are free to speak and trust me to not condemn you. I listen to my clients intently and ask them if I can challenge them about something, but mostly encourage them in their growth and relationship with the Lord.
